Dragon Boat Challenge for corporate/social crews
History and General Information
In October each year, on the weekend nearest to Australia's Breast Cancer Day, Dragons Abreast ACT holds its Corporate and Social Challenge Regatta. The Pink Lady Shield, generously donated by Brendan Smyth MLA, is awarded each year to the fastest team. The Sylvia Flaxman Cup, donated by the Flaxman family, is awarded to the social team most in keeping with Dragons Abreast aims of participation and inclusiveness. The Maggie Sharp Award is for an all female crew.
Planning is in progress for the 2010 regatta which will be held on Saturday 23 October at the rowing course, Weston Park, Yarralumla (map). [PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE]
2011 will be the 10th anniversary of the regatta, which began in October 2002 with just six teams!
